Country music singer-songwriter Blake Shelton seems to be everywhere lately, from the halls of the Grand Ole Opry to television's The Voice. Born in Ada, Oklahoma Shelton left for Nashville in 1994 when he was 17. By 2001 he had his first hit, "Austin", which spent five weeks at number 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and he hasn't looked back since. Eight studio albums later Shelton is one of the hottest country music artists on the scene. He has had 24 country singles on the charts, including fourteen at the number one spot, and has been nominated for four Grammys. He made his television debut in 2007 on two reality music shows, Nashville Star and Clash of the Choirs, and continued in that same vein when he joined the judges panel on The Voice in 2011, the same year he married country music sensation Miranda Lambert.
Shelton was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by friend Trace Adkins on October 23, 2010. He was named "Male Vocalist of the Year" in 2010 by the Country Music Association and awarded the same title in 2012 by the Academy of Country Music. The Academy also awarded his song, "Over You" with wife, Miranda, Song of the Year in 2013.
Blake's music is a traditional mix of blues and country rock with blue-collar lyrics that has wide appeal to his fans. We last saw Blake on the road in 2012 with his successful Well-Lit & Amplified Tour and any fan knows that's where he's at his finest - performing for his fans on stage. His eigth studio album, Based On A True Story, was followed up with another tour in July 2013, "Ten Times Crazier".
