Country music star, Luke Bryan, didn't exactly burst onto the country music scene. Playing guitar and writing songs since he was 14, life's twists and turns forced him to hang onto and work at his dream of becoming a successful country singer for over 15 years. Born in Leesburg, GA, Luke received his first guitar when he was 14 and was soon writing songs and singing with local bands. When older brother, Chris, died in a car accident, Bryan put his plans to move to Nashville on hold and, instead, attended Georgia Southern University in order to remain close to home in support of his family. He continued to play locally and finally moved to Nashville in 2001 at the urging of his father.
Bryan's first role in Nashville was as a songwriter, ultimately writing songs for Travis Tritt ("My Honky Tonk History") and Billy Currington ("Good Directions"). His debut album, I'll Stay Me, was released in 2007, ten of the 11 songs co-written by Bryan. His second album, Doin My Thing was released in 2009. He collaborated with members of the band Lady Antebellum on the track "Do I", which reached #2 on the country music charts, after which, Bryan was on his was to country music success. His third album, Tailgates and Tanlines, in 2011 reached #2 on the Billboard 200, with the track "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" reaching #4 on the country music charts. Bryan's first compilation album, Spring Break...Here To Party was released in early 2013, and his fourth and latest album dropped in August of 2013. Bryan was awarded "Entertainer of the Year" in 2013 by the Academy of Country Music.
In January 2013 Bryan kicked off his first major multi-city tour called, "The Dirt Road Diaries" to the delight of his fans. Luke's fan base has grown steadily until Tailgates and Tanlines solidified his success as a country music artist and the number of fans skyrocketed.
